Hello Fellow Vacationers:
My name is Andrea and I have been a vacation/cruise specialist for over 8 years. As a vacation specialist with H.O.T. Vacations, it is my responsibility to ensure that each and every one of my clients has a spectacular experience whenever they go on vacation. First-hand experience of a destination is very important in order for me to serve my clients well. Hence, in this issue, I will share with you my experience on my recent trip to the beautiful island of Barbados.
Barbados is very tropical year round with temperatures ranging between 75-90 degrees. The exchange rate is approximately Bds$1.98 dollars per US dollar. The language spoken in Barbados is English. The flight from NY JFK to Barbados was very pleasant and my airline of choice was Air Jamaica. The flight is approximately 4 ½ hours from New York. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the very friendly staff of “Island Magic” Tour Company. They provided the transfer service from the airport to the resorts in Barbados and I must tell you that Adeline is the best client service representative that Island Magic employs.
In Barbados there is a resort for every budget. There are small hotels for the budget traveler and larger all inclusive resorts for the more affluent. I will only highlight a few. If you’re someone who focuses on luxury, then the hotel that comes to mind is “The Crane”. This resort offers private plunge pools in the high-end suites. And if you are in corporate America and would like to take your top executives on a retreat, then this is the place to take them because they have excellent meeting facilities. For those golfers who pay attention to detail then “The Sandy Lane” is the hotel to be. The landscape is spectacular and the service is impeccable. And even if your wives are not golfers, they will not be left out because they can actually remain in their rooms and watch their husbands on close circuit televisions while they play golf on the grounds. Our host resort was the Almond Beach Village; this hotel is located on the beach and it’s all-inclusive. Families are always welcome at this hotel. The food is good but I didn’t find a lot of entertainment here. If you desire entertainment and an active nightlife, the St. Lawrence Gap area is just a short cab ride away. This is where Barbados comes alive at nights and is easily accessible from any of the resorts and hotels by cab.
Before I go I must tell you that a visit to Barbados would not be complete without making your reservation at the Tropicana hotel to be entertained and wooed by cast of “Bajan’s Roots & Rhythm”. Now this is a Vegas style show, which is out of this world, with lots of flare and fawner. The dancers are spectacular and the show comes with a full course bajan style meal. Your resort can arrange tickets for you to this show.
Barbados is the New England of the Caribbean. The Bajan people are known as the friendliest in the Caribbean.
Each year, Barbados has their Best of Barbados specials when there are discount on airfare, and other activities in this beautiful island.
I enjoyed my six-day stay in Barbados and I highly recommend the island for Couples, families, and even singles in groups.
